This cloth, meticulously woven over a long period in Nara Prefecture, Japan, is made from mosquito net fabric. Initially, it is stiff and taut due to starch, but after removing the starch with warm or cold water, it shrinks significantly. This process makes it soft, fluffy, and flexible. It has excellent water absorption (1.3 times that of cotton), dries quickly, and is very durable.
